The SIRF Community Carnival will explode onto Stockton High Street in a blaze of colour and sound on Saturday 4 August.
Our Reach for the Stars theme will see schools, young people, community groups, musicians, dance and circus enthusiasts celebrating memorable moments in history since women were first granted the right to vote, 100 years ago.
The carnival will shine a light on some of the achievements in Art, Film, Technology, Science, Aviation and Sport which have inspired and shaped the world today as well as exploring what young people hope to achieve in the future.
Come and experience more than 1,500 participants from across the Tees Valley showcasing their skill and creations with a little help from our 2018 creative team Apollo Arts, Jane Bizimana, Morwenna
Catt, Kim McDermottroe, Handmade Parade, Aileen Kelly, Sarah Riley, Shirley Wells and Urban Kaos.
Join us in Stockton Town Centre as the carnival procession passes through the High Street leading to to the Riverside where you can enjoy the carnival atmosphere, participate in free arts and circus workshops, enjoy a bite to eat with family or simply strut your stuff along to Club Groovy, Hyde Park Brass and Rob Heron and the Tea Pad Orchestra.
