On Saturday 28 July, we’re once again taking SIRF on the road with some exciting preview performances giving you a taster of what you can expect to see at SIRF18 the following weekend.
These fun, family friendly performance for all ages will be taking place in Billingham, Norton, Preston Park and Thornaby between 11.30am and 3pm.
Thornaby Town Centre – Kitsch Cafe 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm (30 minutes each)
The Fairly Famous Family will be returning to the Borough for another year with their walkabout, Kitsch Cafe. The show incorporates a converted ice cream three wheeled trike, which pedals down the street before entertaining you with a hilarious show.
Preston Park Museum & Grounds – Punt 11.30am, 1pm and 2pm (30 minutes each)
Artizani’s performance of Punt sees two Oxbridge undergraduates take to a 12ft long gondola. They will serenade and entertain you with light-hearted comedy as the boat drifts around the grounds.
Norton High Street – Comedy Waiters 11.30am, 1pm and 2pm (30 minutes each)
Reckless Intervention are a duo of comedy waiters who combine silent humour and graceful slapstick for a jam-packed street performance. Self-contained and versatile, they come with a wheeled trolley ready to roll on any terrain.
Billingham Town Centre – Afrikan Warriors 11.30am, 1pm and 2pm (30 minutes each)
Appearing as Britain’s got Talent Semi-Finalists in 2009, Afrikan Warriors are an acrobatic troupe who have performed over 2,000 shows around the world. From the street theatres of Tanzania, they incorporate traditional dance in their fast-paced routine.
