SIRF is easy to access via bus or car with ample car parking within easy walking distance to the town centre and the heart of the festival.

Why not get the bus to SIRF this year – the High Street is served by an extensive bus network meaning you can catch all the shows without worrying about where to park your car! During SIRF some bus services will be affected so please make sure you check www.connectteesvalley.com or ask at SIRF Central (Rediscover Stockton shop) before travelling.

Please note the following changes during the festival:

CAR PARK CLOSURES: 

There’s more than 2000 parking spaces available during SIRF, all within easy reach of Stockton town centre. You can view or download a copy of the available car parks here, please note the following closures:

  • Riverside Car Park, closed from Thursday 26 July (6pm) until Wednesday 8 August (6pm)
  • Parliament Street Car Park, closed from Thursday 26 July (6pm) until Wednesday 8 August (6pm)
  • High Street Car Park, closed Saturday 28 July (6pm) until Tuesday 7 August (6pm)
  • Municipal Car Park, closed from Friday 3 August (6pm) until Saturday 4 August (6pm)
  • Bishop Street Car Park, closed from Friday 3 August (6pm) until Saturday 4 August (8pm)

ROAD CLOSURES: 

In the interest of public safety, there are a small number of road closures during SIRF, including:

Wednesday 1 August (11.59pm) – Monday 6 August (11.59pm) – A1305 Riverside, Stockton
A1305 Riverside, Stockton will be closed from 11.59pm Wednesday 1 August until 11.59pm Monday 6 August. The road will be closed from North Shore gyratory to its junction with Tower Street. Signed diversion routes will be in place. Access to Castlegate Centre car park and Quayside Road will be maintained.

Wednesday 1 August (6pm) – Sunday 5 August (11.59pm) – Stockton High Street
Stockton High Street with be closed to vehicular traffic between the northern and southern bus turning loops from 6pm Wednesday 1 August until 11.59pm Sunday 5 August. Alternative bus service arrangements will be in place and Information notices will be placed on bus stops in the days before the start of the Festival. Signed diversion routes will be in place.

Saturday 4 August (6am – 1.15pm) – Community Carnival Parade
There will be full road closures of Bishop Street / Thistle Green / The Square between 6am-1.15pm. In addition, Church Road / High Street / Bridge Road / Tower Street / Riverside Road will be closed 11.45am-1.15pm – including Stockton High Street between its junctions with Norton Road and the northern bus loop and from the southern bus loop to its junctions with Yarm Lane and Bridge Road.
Tower Street / Riverside Road Southern end. Riverside Road: Between St Johns Crossing and the existing closure point north of Castlegate Centre car park access. As a result, temporary lane closures will be in operation around St Johns Crossing & delays are expected.

Sunday 5 August (8am – 1am) – SIRF Finale
There will be a full closure of Council of Europe Boulevard between 8am-1am.  In addition, the A1046 / A1305 – Church Road / Gyratory / North Shore Road / Maritime Road will be closed between 6pm-1am

CHANGES TO BUS TIMES AND LOCATIONS:

There are some changes to bus times and bus stop locations as a result of the above closures. Some of these are across the weekend of SIRF, others are just for the Saturday for the Community Carnival Parade.
