Like all busy events there are are a small number of temporary road and car park closures. However, there are still plenty of car parking space available – see our Car Parking page for more information and our handy map!
In the interest of public safety there are also some changes to bus times and bus stop locations – including:
A1305 Riverside, Stockton: Friday 28 July 11.59pm until Sunday 6 August 6pm.
A1305 Riverside, Stockton will be closed from 11.59pm Friday 28 July until 6pm Sunday 6 August. The road will be closed from North Shore gyratory to its junction with Tower Street. Signed diversion routes will be in place. Access to Castlegate Centre car park and Quayside Road will be maintained.
Stockton High Street: Thursday 3 August 8pm – Sunday 6 August 11.59pm.
Stockton High Street with be closed to vehicular traffic between the northern and southern bus turning loops from 8pm Thursday 3 August until 6pm Sunday 6 August. Alternative bus service arrangements will be in place and Information notices will be placed on bus stops in the days before the start of the Festival. Signed diversion routes will be in place.
Bishop Street / Silver Street / Calverts Lane / Thistle Green / The Square: Thursday 3 August & Friday 4 August 9.15pm – 11pm
Bishop Street / Silver Street / Calverts Lane / Thistle Green / The Square with be closed to vehicular traffic on Thursday 3 August & Friday 4 August between 9.15pm – 11pm. An additional closure of The Square (east) will also be in operation on Saturday 5 August 9.15pm – 11pm.
Church Road, Stockton: Friday 4 August, Saturday 5 August & Sunday 6 August 1pm – 9.15pm
Church Road will be closed to vehicular traffic (except buses) between it junction with The Square (west) and its junction with Bath Lane on Friday 4 August, Saturday 5 August & Sunday 6 August between 1pm – 9.15pm. Traffic will be diverted via The Square Bishop Street & Thistle Green.
Community Carnival Parade: Saturday 5 August (12pm – 1pm)
Bishop Street / Thistle Green / The Square (west)
Stockton High Street: Between its junctions with Norton Road and the northern bus loop.
Stockton High Street: From the southern bus loop to its junctions with Yarm Lane and Bridge Road.
Tower Street / Riverside Road Southern end.
Riverside Road: Between St Johns Crossing and the existing closure point north of Castlegate Centre car park access. As a result, temporary lane closures will be in operation around St Johns Crossing & delays are expected.
Churchyard Link Road, Stockton: Sunday 6 August 9.30pm – 11pm
Churchyard Link Road will be closed to vehicular traffic between Yarm Lane and St Johns Crossing (access to Parkfield Road will be maintained) on Sunday 6 August between 9.30pm – 11pm. Signed diversion routes will be in place
CHANGES TO BUS TIMES AND LOCATIONS:
There are several changes to bus times and bus stop locations. Some of these are across the weekend of SIRF, others are just for the Saturday 5 August for the Community Carnival Parade.
