Love by the river

Throughout the pandemic artists Umar Butt and Patricia Suarez have been working with young professionals from Northern School of Art.

Commissioned by SIRF and ARC the group have created a new piece of street theatre for SIRF 2021. Love by the river explores themes of relief, freedom and hope as we readjust our worlds to exist within a global pandemic. The piece is a celebration of humanity and all its parts. Prepare to feel a sense of nostalgia of school parties and discos as the group draw you in to celebrate the world moving again.

Contemporary film maker Jodie Canwell has documented the making process and the film will feature as part of the SIRF digital programme.
